The digital enterprise is today a reality for all leaders across industry segments. The new enterprise form has many attributes and implications, but one undeniable fact is that getting value depends on analyzing and acting on data. The process by which organizations do that is changing dramatically in many organizations. We are moving from a back-office, slow, human-crafted approach to analytics (“Analytics 1.0”) to big data analytics (2.0) to a combined approach that works at speed and scale (3.0). In this presentation, Tom Davenport will describe the overall role of big data and analytics in the digital enterprise, and how the role has changed over time. He will discuss the key attributes of the Analytics 3.0 environment, and will mention several leading companies that have already made this shift. He will also discuss the implications of this approach for software and services providers.
